What's Happening Around All Star Performance Horses
An exciting time was had by many at the 2012 NRHA futurity in Oklahoma City. Several All Star Performance Horses clients made promising purchases during their week in OKC.

Nancy Brugato brought home the beautiful and talented, Timber Zak, purchased from Patrice St Onge and shown at the futurity by Billy Williams. Congratulations, to you Nancy on your purchase. We can't wait to see the two of you slinging sand in 2012!

Clients, Walt and Susan Lathrom, brought home a rockstar in their purchase of "Electric Guitar". "Electric Guitar" is a beautiful son of the hot young sire, Jacs Electric Spark and out of a full sister to NRHA futurity champion, Hollywood Vintage.

With such a hot pedigree, we decided we couldn't have just one in the barn and our wonderful Canadian clients, Gaylene Sawchuk and Brian Knutson brought home his full sister "Electric Fence". Electric Fence is a gorgeous red dun two year old filly that was purchased from Schmersal Reining Horses. We're expecting great things from this filly with Ben Sawchuk and Matt McDowell in the saddle in 2012!

Also making the trip from Oklahoma City to Oregon was another outstanding son of Jacs Electric Spark named "Sparky Can Slide". "Sparky" is owned by John Wilhite of Red Oak, TX and is out of the good mare, Sheza Smart Tucker. Sheza Smart Tucker was top ten in the nation in the Junior reining and is currently leased by our daughter, Madison for her 13 & under horse.

Rounding out the line up, new clients John and Leah Harris of Joseph, OR brought home the nice filly, Ultra Spookin. "Ultra Spookin" is sired by the legendary Smart Spook and out of the mare, Ultra Jay. We are especially fond of this maternal line as Ultra Jay is a daughter of our beloved Ladys Ultra Chic (dam of Smartest Shiner Yet, Elans Chic Elaine, Ultra Shine, Chicoutimi and the upcoming prospect Ultra Fine Shine). "Ultra Spookin" was raised by Roseanne Sternberg of Sterling Ranch and is a full sister to Roseanne's NRHA money earning mare, "Ultra Spook". We can't wait to throw a leg over this one!

Show Results!
Matt McDowell and the beautiful buckskin, Docs Silver Shiner, were Open Futurity Champions at the SRRA's Luc MacGregor Memorial Derby. Matt and "Rodman", owned by Billy and Monica Karcher, brought home a trophy saddle, a Lawson and Morrison bronze and a check for around $2,000. Matt and Nancy Brugato's talented gelding by Banjo Whiz finished as Reserve Champions in the Luc Macgregor Memorial Derby. Matt rounded out the weekend with a second place finishing on Wimpys Melody Step, owned and raised by Bar Double Dot Quarter Horses. All Star Performance Horses would like to thank all of our wonderful clients for an unforgettable 2011 show season.

All Star Performance Horses had a succesful weekend in Central Point at the ORHA Classic. Matt McDowell and Nu Gold Banjo, owned by Nancy Brugato, won the Open Derby with a scorching, 148.5 and won the Open futurity with Docs Silver Shiner with a 145.5! Congratulations to Billy and Monica Karcher,owners of Docs Silver Shiner, on their first big win. Emily Brugato also brought home her first NRHA plaque in the Youth 14-18 Division on her horse, Nite Dreams, purchased through All Star Performance Horses last fall.

Thank you, Nancy Brugato and family for the opportunity to show Nu Gold Banjo at the RHANW Summer Slide. Matt and "Dorato" were Reserve Champions with a 73.5.

Congratulations to Matt McDowell and Smartest Shiner Yet, Open Maturity Champions at the Energy City Classic in Gillette, WY, June 3-5th.

Matt McDowell and Rock N Roll CD, owned by Frank Dillon, were also Ltd. Open Champions in their first outing in the show pen. Rock N Roll CD, is sired by CD Olena, and out of the outstanding producing mare, Lena Dun It.

Amber McDowell and Smartest Shiner Yet captured the Non-Pro Maturity championship Friday night and came back to win the Non-Pro class on Sunday morning. On the weekend, the McDowells and "Bling" won approximately $3,300, three Morrisons and one Pewter trophy! What a horse!

Snake River Summer Slide

It was the first show of the year and what a show it was! Matt McDowell and Bret Christensen's, Wimpys Melody Step, take first place in the Open and Intermediate Open at the Snake River Reining Association Summer Slide #1! Amber McDowell and Smartest Shiner Yet win the Non-Pro and Intermediate Non-Pro with the show's high score and add another $800 to Bling's lifetime earnings. Cody Arbogast and DS Sugar Badger, make their NRHA debut and mark a 69 to take first place in the Youth 14-18 division and the highlight of the day was Madison McDowell also making her Short Stirrup debut on her trusty mount, "Classy". Way to go team!

New Faces Around the Barn!
Congratulations to Susan Lathrom-Krieg on her purchase of the Open futurity finalist, Wimpys Gal Gone Wild! Thank you to agent, Andrea Fappani and seller Rancho Oso Rio. We're looking forward to an exciting show season with this new team!
